Langless Langless

Langless use cases

Where and how to use live voice translation — at work, while studying, talking, gaming or traveling.

What you need

  • An AI key (OpenAI or Gemini) — it does the translating. How to get the key
  • The 1-day free trial (Listen and hosting a Room) or a plan (from US$ 25/month). Only Meeting is paid.
  • Headphones. Without them, the app hears its own translation and echoes.

Languages

Pick "My language" and "Other language" in the top bar. In Listen, the "🌐 Translates to … ⇄" button shows which of the two the translation goes to; tap it to switch (it works even while translating, and the app remembers your choice). It starts translating into the Other language — to hear in your own language (video, class, TV, someone speaking another language), tap until it shows yours.

How the styles work

  • Continuous: translates nonstop, hands-free.
  • Push-to-Talk: the microphone only listens while you hold the button. Good in noisy places.
  • Consecutive: the translation is saved. Tap "⏸ Pause capture", hear it with "📥 Play translation" (and compare with "📤 Play original"), then "🎤 Resume capture" — that erases the previous chunk.

  1. Set English as "Other language"; in Listen, pick Microphone and leave it on "🌐 Translates to English".
  2. Say your answer and tap "⏸ Pause capture".
  3. Hear it with "📥 Play translation" and compare with "📤 Play original". Repeat it out loud.

Limit: It is for practice and vocabulary — the voice you hear is the AI’s.

Do a job interview with a company abroad

Mode
Meeting
Source
Microphone (your voice) + the meeting: "Meeting tab" in the browser, or "Input/cable" in the installed app
Style
Continuous
Access
Paid plan + AI key
You need
headphones, virtual audio cable
  1. Install the virtual audio cable (once). Simplest: join the meeting in the browser (Meet, Zoom or Teams on the web) → 1 cable (free). With the installed Zoom/Teams app (outside the browser) you need 2 cables, required to hear the meeting translated — more setup; on Windows, the VB-CABLE A+B pair is a donation starting at €5; on Mac, BlackHole (free), always in Chrome.
  2. In Meeting, set up both lines: "When I speak" (your microphone → "meeting hears" = the cable) and "When I hear the meeting" (the meeting tab, or the 2nd cable in the installed app → "I hear" = your headphones). Tap ▶ Start meeting.
  3. In Zoom/Teams/Meet, pick the cable as the microphone.

Limit: The interviewer hears the AI’s voice, a few seconds late, instead of yours. Say at the start that you use a voice translator — it explains the voice and the delay, and avoids trouble if the company finds out later. In Meeting the AI cost is ~2× (two translations at once).

  1. Your translated voice goes into the meeting through the cable, as a microphone.
  2. The meeting reaches you translated in your headphones through the browser tab — that is why 1 cable is enough in the browser.

Limit: A few seconds of delay; with the meeting tab, the original audio plays along. With the installed Zoom/Teams app (outside the browser) you need a 2nd cable and more setup. On Mac, use BlackHole, in Chrome. AI cost ~2×.

Limit: Works best with dialogue and story (RPGs, narrative games) rather than fast action. With the game on the cable, you hear the translation, not the original sound. We haven’t tested every game: some may need to be reopened after you switch the output.
