HR: interviews and onboarding with candidates from other countries

Your HR wants to hire talent from abroad — or the company already has teams spread around the world — but interviews and onboarding stall on language. Assessing a candidate only halfway, because you don’t catch everything they say, leads to the wrong decision. With Langless, your voice and the candidate’s are translated live, in both directions, right inside the call — on the spot, with no human interpreter. You assess and onboard as if you spoke the same language.

The scenario: assessing and onboarding people who don’t speak your language

International recruiting is now reality: remote roles, nearshore, expansion into other countries. But the interview is the most sensitive moment — you need to read nuance, hesitation, technical depth. If the language gets in the way, you assess the accent instead of the competence. And later, in onboarding, the new hire gets lost in the first weeks for not understanding the instructions.

Putting an interpreter in every funnel interview doesn’t scale, and hiring only people who speak your language cuts out the best candidates.

How Langless solves it

Langless translates voice live, in both directions. In an interview over Zoom, Teams or Meet, in Meeting mode, the recruiter speaks in their language and the candidate hears it in theirs; the answers come back translated. The candidate installs nothing.

For onboarding, you can use a multilingual chat room for sessions with several languages, or Listen mode so the new hire follows a presentation translated. See the guide to translating meetings in real time.

How much it costs

The plans start at US$ 25/month, with seats shared across the team — several recruiters use it on a concurrent-use basis. The translation runs on the company’s AI key (BYOK): ~US$ 0.03/min directly to the provider, with no markup. Against the cost of interpreters over an entire hiring process, the savings are large.

When NOT to use Langless

For formally signing the employment contract, legal onboarding documents, or labor matters with legal weight, use sworn/certified translation and, if needed, a human interpreter. AI covers day-to-day interviews and onboarding; the legal paperwork calls for professional accountability.

Frequently asked questions

Does the candidate need to install anything for the interview?

No. In Meeting mode the translation goes out through the recruiter’s microphone, so the candidate hears it in their own language with nothing to install.

Can I onboard a group of new hires at the same time?

Yes. For sessions with several languages, use the multilingual chat room; for presentations, Listen mode lets each person follow along translated.

Is the conversation recorded?

No. Langless doesn’t store the audio or create recordings of the interview: the translation happens live and is discarded right after. The connection is encrypted (TLS) only in transit, so nothing is kept once the conversation ends.
